The Turing Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for schools and colleges across the UK to fund international educational trips. Whether you’re a coach, sports teacher or school leader, this scheme can help make your next football tour or multi-sport trip a reality. But how does it work, and how can SLT Tours assist you in getting the most out of the funding?
What is the Turing Scheme?
Launched in 2021, the Turing Scheme is the UK government’s international travel programme that provides funding to schools and colleges for overseas educational trips. The scheme covers a wide range of educational and cultural experiences, including sports tours, making it a perfect fit for schools looking to provide their students with global sporting experiences.
How Can Football & Multi-Sport Tours Benefit from the Turing Scheme?
One of the key goals of the Turing Scheme is to support opportunities that promote learning through sport. For many students, participating in a football or multi-sport tour can be a life-changing experience. From improving sports skills to learning about new cultures, these tours are the perfect combination of physical activity and education.
Here’s how a football tour or a multi-sport trip can align with the objectives of the Turing Scheme:
- Personal Development: Sports tours help students develop key life skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and resilience.
- Cultural Exchange: International sports tours provide students with the opportunity to interact with peers from different countries and experience new cultures.
- Educational Enrichment: With SLT Tours, each trip includes educational elements such as language immersion, historical site visits, and professional sports coaching, enriching the experience beyond the pitch.
